Nutella French Toast With Bananas
I made this yummy french toast with nutella and bananas a couple weeks ago and some of you asked for the recipe. Here it is. I hope you guy really enjoy it! This recipe is based from The Kitchen Life of a Navy Wife. As for the music... The recipe can be "French" but there's a Brazilian twist in it!
Prep time: 10 minutes | Cooking time: 5 minutes | Total time: 15 minutes | Servings: 2
UPDATE: You can substitute the banana for the fruit in season, cranberry. I made a delightful whole cranberry sauce to eat with my mouth watering french toast. In a medium saucepan, boil 1/3 cup of water with 1/3 cup of brown sugar. Once it's boiling, add 1 cup of fresh cranberries, bring to a boil again and then reduce heat to medium, cooking gently for 10 min stirring occasionally. Transfer to a bowl and let it cool down for a little while before eating. ;-)
Ingredients:
Instructions:
1. Combine banana, sugar and lemon juice in a bowl. Toss to coat and set aside to macerate at room temperature.
2. Spread desired amount of Nutella over 2 slices of bread. Top each with the remaining bread. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
3. In a shallow dish or pie plate, whisk together the egg and milk. Whisk in the melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon and salt. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the heated skillet and swirl to coat.
4. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, soaking for 30 to 40 seconds per side. Add the slices to the pan in a single layer, taking care not to crowd the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes, until light golden brown. Flip and continue cooking an additional 1-2 minutes. Add more butter as needed.
5. Transfer to a plate, dust with powdered sugar, then top with banana. Serve immediately.
